Dr. Burack received his undergraduate degree from the Cornell University at Ithaca, NY.
He then graduated and obtained his Medical Doctorate from Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Yeshiva University.

Dr. Burack trained in general surgery and cardiothoracic surgery at Montefiore Medical Center and the SUNY Downstate Medical Center. He joined the faculty at SUNY Downstate Medical Center in 1990.
