About:

Dr. Kang came to the US from Malaysia in 2003. She had completed her 1st and 2nd years of medical school in Malaysia, at the International Medical University(IMU).

As the dean of Jefferson Medical College is also the co-founder of IMU in Malaysia, she had a choice to continue her medical school education at Jefferson, provided she passed USMLE step 1 within certain period of time. With a great influence from her seniors who had gone Jefferson, Dr. Kang decided to take the exam and passed.

Dr. Kang always wanted to be a pediatric surgeon. At such, she had applied to a surgical residency and got into SUNY Downstate Medical Center's Surgical Residency Program.

She is planning to do research in pediatric surgery after graduation, before applying for a pediatric surgery fellowship.
