About:

Dr. Sugiyama was born and raised in Japan until the age of 13, when he immigrated to the United States. He attended City University of New York at Queens College and graduated from the State University of New York, Downstate College of Medicine in 2005.

He will be going to the University of Minnesota for Cardiothoracic Surgery Fellowship in 2010, where he plans to pursue his career in heart failure, heart/lung transplant, and an endovascular aortic surgery.
