Dr. Wilbur Bowne is a graduate of SUNY Downstate Medical School in 1994. He completed surgical training at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in 2002 and research and surgical oncology fellowship (s) at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York. Thereafter, he obtained additional training during a fellowship in minimally invasive/laparoscopic surgery. Dr. Bowne’s expertise includes liver, bile duct, and pancreatic surgical oncology and is extensively published, as well as a recipient of numerous awards and extramural funding for his research in these areas. Dr. Bowne chose to return to Downstate and takes great pride in being a member of a multidisciplinary team that can handle the most complex patient situation whatever the circumstances or the nature of the problem.
