About:

Dr Hirshberg graduated from the Hadassah-Hebrew University Medical School in Jerusalem and did his surgical training in Tel Aviv, Israel and Durban, South Africa. He completed a trauma/critical care fellowship at the Ben Taub General Hospital in Houston, followed by a vascular surgery fellowship at the Scripps Clinic in La Jolla, California.

Dr Hirshberg was the founding director of the trauma service at the Sheba Medical Center in Tel Aviv and was later recruited by Baylor College of Medicine as Associate Professor and Director of Vascular Surgery at the Ben Taub General Hospital in Houston. In August 2006 he joined the Department of Surgery at Kings County Hospital. He is the author of more than 60 papers, 30 book chapters and the international bestseller “Top Knife: the art and craft of trauma surgery”.
